MANHATTAN - Dan Quart is the first elected leader to run a competitive campaign for Manhattan District Attorney in at least 50 years. His historic run speaks to the moment we are in. One in which New Yorkers are looking for a District Attorney to not only prosecute, but to be a community partner and leader.

As an elected leader for over a decade, Quart is the only candidate who has achieved real criminal justice reforms: from repealing the worst police secrecy law in the country, to leading the fight against racist gravity knife laws, Quart has always fought and delivered reforms that build a fairer and safer city.

Quart’s record of delivering transformative change in the Assembly amidst intense pressure and scrutiny from conservative groups while winning reelection six times speaks to his ability to build coalitions and lead. His 20+ years as a community lawyer and the endorsements from community leaders demonstrates Quart’s deep connection to Manhattan.

The days of the disconnected District Attorney are over, Manhattan is ready for a true leader in this office. As the first elected leader to seek this office, Dan Quart is the candidate with the grassroots support and the record of delivering safety and fairness that Manhattanites are looking for.

About Dan Quart: Dan Quart is one of NYC’s top pro bono attorneys and a New York State Assemblymember representing Manhattan’s East Side. A Washington Heights native who grew up in subsidized housing with working-class parents, Dan was raised by a public school teacher and a social worker who taught him the value of public service. Since graduating law school, he has dedicated his career to standing up for tenants' rights and advocating for criminal justice reform.

As Manhattan’s next District Attorney, Dan will fight to end mass incarceration, hold law enforcement accountable for police brutality, and ensure that all Manhattanites feel safe. Learn more at and
