MANHATTAN - This morning, Dan Quart released the following statement:
“After over 11 years of failing to protect some of our most vulnerable communities, Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance announced this his office finally will stop prosecuting prostitution and unlicensed massages. While it’s long overdue, this is the right decision.
“The dismissal of the vast majority of these over 5,000 cases would not have been possible without the repeal of Walking While Trans earlier this year. I was proud to have co-sponsored and fought for this legislation for years, and as District Attorney I will not prosecute sex work.”
